Business Challenge:
2D/3D CAD Software Development is a flagship product of one of our Australian client. The .dwg read and write support in this product was falling back and required a major upgrade to keep their product ahead in the market. They had following challenges
- Performance was slow
- Required support of latest versions of .dwg
- Required to support all the entities
Solution Delivery:
The team at ProtoTech Solutions suggested possible solutions using different SDKs that are available in the market. Team at ProtoTech then developed a brand new DWG Importer and Exporter add-ins for the client application within a short span of 3 months. This add-in overcame all the limitations of their existing data exchange module.
Project Execution:
For Importer module our team had to do complex geometric conversion for different types of CAD entities. On Exporter side the major task was to export the Composed Drawings with correct view port alignment for each layout and the layers properties to .dwg file. As there was some major differences the way Layout and Layers are handled in the client’s application and general .dwg file format.
