A Memorable Journey at Autodesk DevCon Europe 2025

Wow! What an experience. Attending Autodesk DevCon Europe 2025 was truly amazing. For a few days, we were surrounded by innovation, creativity, and great people. It was an opportunity to explore the future of design and technology, and to celebrate those who make it all possible.

From the very start, the energy was electric. The event brought together designers, engineers, developers, and visionaries from across the globe. Everywhere you turned, exciting conversations were happening, whether about the latest features in Autodesk Platform Services or how sustainability is transforming the design process.

Now let’s talk about one of the highlights: ProtoTech Solutions was thrilled to lead a session on the evolving role of the EcoDesigner in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), highlighting how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into every stage of the design process using the power of Autodesk Platform Services (APS). 

80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined during the design phase. As sustainability becomes a business imperative, more companies need to assess designs for environmental impact in the early design stages.

This session was particularly close to our hearts. Sustainability shouldn’t be a side thought; it should be a key part of every design decision. And thanks to Autodesk Platform Services (APS), integrating sustainability into projects is easier and more effective than ever before.

In the session, we explored how APS can help designers at every step of the way, whether it’s cloud-based model storage, dynamic viewing, or accessing physical properties. APS is redefining what’s possible in digital design. The audience was engaged, curious, and passionate. Their questions and energy made the session come alive. There’s a strong and growing desire in the design community to build smarter, greener, and better.

One of the most heartwarming parts? Reuniting with familiar faces. Events like these are about more than just tech; they’re about people. We had the pleasure of catching up with old friends, sharing laughs, building new relationships, and exchanging ideas with the amazing global Autodesk community. From insightful discussions at the booths, Autodesk, Tech Soft 3D, and SimaPro, casual waterfront chats, and spontaneous meetups made every moment special.

A big thank you to Emile Kfouri, Zoé Bezpalko, Tobias Hathorn, Caspar Honée, Joe Speicher, Marta Bouchard, Rebecca B., Amit Aman, and Kevin Vandecar. Whether our conversations were focused on tech trends, environmental impact, or just sharing a fun story from the road, your insights and warmth made a lasting impression. It was an absolute pleasure meeting and reconnecting with each of you.

What makes APS so powerful is how it breaks down barriers. Designers and developers can work together more seamlessly, share data more freely, and bring their visions to life faster than ever. And when sustainability tools are baked right into that workflow, we can truly start building a better world.

We owe a huge thank you to the Autodesk team for organizing such a dynamic and welcoming event. Every detail, from the speaker lineups to the networking spaces, was thoughtfully planned to encourage learning, sharing, and collaboration. It felt like a community working toward a shared future.

Walking away from DevCon, we’re filled with ideas, inspiration, and a renewed sense of purpose. Events like this are a reminder of what’s possible when passionate people come together. Whether you’re coding a new tool, designing a sustainable building, or simply exploring new possibilities, there’s a place for you in this exciting journey.

And while the sessions and tech demos were incredible, it’s the human moments that stick with us the most. The laughter during lunch, the “aha” moments in workshops, the quiet chats by the water, all of it added up to an experience we won’t soon forget.

As we look ahead, we’re excited to take everything we learned and apply it to the work we do. Sustainability, innovation, and community are no longer separate ideas, they’re all deeply connected. And with tools like APS, we’re better equipped than ever to bring those connections to life.
